Comments right on the PDF
Select a word or a line and choose an action: replace, insert, delete or ask. The comment stays at that spot, and the author replies in the same thread.
The typesetter no longer has to guess what a hand-drawn mark means.
For publishers, editors and typesetters
The editor, typesetter and author all work on the same PDF. You mark corrections on the page, AI checks spelling and punctuation against your style guide, and when a new version is uploaded you see at once what has been fixed.
Built for Lithuanian
Dictionary, quotation marks, dashes and spacing follow Lithuanian rules.
Works with your tools
Comments open in Acrobat and InDesign, and in Word for manuscripts.
Your manuscripts stay yours
Your texts are never used to train AI.
Secure from day one
Files are stored encrypted, and only invited people see a project.
Why Glosa
Comments, versions and replies now scattered across emails and files named “final_v3” – in one place.
How it works
A PDF from InDesign or another layout program. Every new file becomes a new version of the project.
The editor marks right on the pages, and AI suggests spelling and punctuation fixes.
Sees all corrections in one place, page by page, and marks the ones already done.
When a new PDF is uploaded, Glosa finds which corrections were made and which were missed.
The round repeats until every correction is verified: in the second proof you check only what is left, not the whole book again.
The proof window
The same window for the editor, typesetter and author – each just sees their own work and their own buttons.
Every comment is marked right in the text, and the colour shows its category: spelling, punctuation, typography, layout.
The top of the panel shows what is waiting for you. “Start” takes you to the first comment, and once done – automatically to the next.
“Send” notifies the typesetter or author, changes the stage and sets the deadline. The recipient gets a link by email.
For text checkers
The same marks you draw with a pencil – only tidy, with an exact place on the page and a status everyone can see.
Select a word or a line and choose an action: replace, insert, delete or ask. The comment stays at that spot, and the author replies in the same thread.
The typesetter no longer has to guess what a hand-drawn mark means.
AI checks spelling, punctuation and consistency – quotation marks, dashes, numbers and names – exactly as your house style guide says.
The dictionary protects the author's words and proper names. You accept or dismiss every suggestion yourself.
When a new layout is uploaded, comments are found on the new pages even if the text has reflowed. You only review what wasn't fixed.
Compare any two versions and see the changed text – including changes nobody asked for. AI briefly sums up what changed.
A PDF with comments that opens in Acrobat and InDesign, an Excel table or a printable list of corrections.
Features
The details that save hours in every proofreading round.
The core proofreading tools are unlimited, whichever plan you choose. Credits pay only for AI checks.
For the whole team
Invite people to a project with roles. Everyone is notified about the comments and replies meant for them.
Edits the text, marks spelling, punctuation and layout errors, reviews AI suggestions, asks the author questions and verifies corrections in the new version.
Uploads new layout versions, sees the list of corrections page by page and marks the ones done.
Invited without registering: chooses “I agree” or “I disagree” for each correction and answers questions.
There is also a project manager role that manages members and stages, and a viewer who only looks. If you need more, create your own roles with their own name and permissions.
Security and control
Until publication, a manuscript is confidential. So you control access yourself: who sees what and who can change things.
A publisher or editorial team has its own organisation with an owner, administrators and members. Project roles are set separately, and you can create your own with the permissions you need.
Invite colleagues and outside collaborators with a link. Authors and typesetters don't need an organisation of their own.
Two-factor authentication, and on the Enterprise plan sign-in with your work account, such as Microsoft or Google.
Manuscripts are stored encrypted, and every uploaded file is checked for viruses.
On the Enterprise plan you can allow sign-in only from your office or VPN addresses – from anywhere else the organisation's projects stay hidden.
Download an archive of every project with one click: layouts, comments with replies, files, the dictionary and the style guide.

No. The author gets an email invitation, enters their name and lands right in the proof – no password needed.
PDF (up to 300 MB) and Word documents: .docx, .doc, .odt, .rtf. Text on scanned pages is recognised automatically.
Open comments are carried over and found on the new pages, even if the text has reflowed. Glosa marks which corrections were made, and the previous version stays available for review.
They work in the same proof window or download a PDF with annotations that opens in Acrobat and InDesign. For the manuscript stage – Word with tracked changes.
No. Spelling and typography checks work without AI, and AI proofreading can be turned off in the organisation settings. Text is sent for an AI check only when you run one yourself.
Credits pay for AI proofreading: checking one page of ~2,000 characters uses about 1.2 credits, a 300-page book about 360. You see the cost before running a check. Spelling and typography checks without AI are free and unlimited.
Not for authors – invite as many as you like. Typesetters and editors take a team seat, even when hired externally and invited to a single project (one person is one seat, however many projects). The Editor plan already includes one external typesetter.
No. Your manuscripts are never used to train any AI models. Only the pages being checked, the dictionary and the style guide are sent for a check – not the whole file.
Yes. A project is visible only to invited people, and files are stored encrypted and checked for viruses. If needed, you can turn on two-factor authentication, sign-in with a work account and access only from your own network.
Yes – on a phone the author can comfortably answer questions and choose “I agree” or “I disagree”. Large proofs are easiest on a computer.
